2. Style:
This artist’s work possesses a contemporary set of characteristics that reflect media that is seen these days, in hip hop artists, and artists everywhere. Primarily in his more recent work, his style is perceived by me as very affluent in respect to modern rap culture and discography, meandering between various relationships. His photos are comparable to photos of rockstars seen in the 1970s and 1980s. He does a great job creating images of varied color and colorful themes. Additionally he creates a constant mood of ascension and surrealism, through complementing certain themes and characters.

3. Philosophy:
The ideas behind his work are directly derived from the music culture he is within. He works closely with the visionary; Young Thug. He definitely expresses his creativity in his work, exemplifying the rebellious, unique theme of hip hop and rap. Social influence is probably his biggest factor in determining what he photographs. The major ideas were behind relaxing, partying, and performing music. I enjoyed the message he conveyed, by maintaining a common theme.

4. Influences:
He has influenced me to actually look beyond what is there. To explore nature and passionate interests rather than just follow rubrics. I believe his work will make me more aware of what makes a photo cool. Larmond made me think about lighting, time of day, and editing. He has influenced me by helping me realize the significant elements to keep in mind when taking photos. He has made me primarily consider how I can implement photography in my life, and my life in photography.

MY PHOTOS:
MY PHOTOS:
Thugger Replica This photo was taken at a concert in Los Angeles. I went to a Young Thug concert, and he opened the show for Thugger. His name is ace deuce, and he had some interesting songs. He has very good fashion, which reminded me of Young Thug. The photo was taken in similar lighting as the photo of Thugger performing, taken by Garfield Larmond. I could have got a better angle, and if I had more access, it could have been of Young Thug himself. |
C-V8 Replica+
This photo is of my friend Jakub. He was flexing some bands. I wanted to replicate the photo of Young Thug, that Larmond so eloquently captured. I was at the Neutral Zone, working on some art, when I took this photograph. I took a photo of him because as Young Thug is, to Larmond, Jakub Hann is a great artist I appreciate and aspire to. |
All White Party Replica
This photo is of my friend Stanley. I took this photo to resemble the All White Party photo that Larmond captured. Stanley is a 10th grader at Huron High School. He is a good friend of me, and can sing. I would have liked to include more white objects, but I just don’t have a lot of them. They both have a focus on the foreground, exhibiting a person in all white, with a microphone. |
7. Artist Statements:

I went to a concert and saw some talented performers. I was with two friends at the concert. We went to a very nice place for dinner, I enjoyed a burger. After eating, we realized there was a big concert in the area. We took an uber, as soon as I got my peach cobbler. I ate the cobbler on the way, and finished it as we bought tickets for the show. We had a great night. |

Me and my colleague, Jakub Hann, worked on a comprehensive piece of art for the Live on Washington music festival. We spent money on spray paint, primer, and aluminum panels, along with a nice easel. The easel was made out of wood. We put a lot of time into preparing this work of art for the live arts show. This was taken the day before we did the live mural, which we had been preparing all week long. |

Stanley and me have been neighbors for a while. I started becoming more involved at the Neutral Zone recently, and found out he goes there too. We shared laughs and nachos at Banditos, a mexican restaurant in the area. After this, I tried to take a photo of him, at my family’s first summer barbecue get together. A good time was had that Saturday, cracking open a few cold ones. |
